Karen Kaczynski Lau, PhD, is a Harvard-trained clinical child psychologist with deep roots in pediatric medical settings. For over 15 years she was part of a multidisciplinary team at Boston Children's Hospital, where she worked alongside physicians, nurses, and specialists to support young patients and their families through complex and often frightening medical experiences.
At Beacon Child Psychology, Dr. Lau brings that same multidisciplinary mindset to every family she works with — listening carefully, evaluating thoroughly, and working collaboratively to chart a path forward. Her areas of expertise include medical coping, anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, and associated school difficulties.
Her approach is warm, evidence-based, and always attuned to the whole child: their developmental stage, family context, school life, and individual strengths.
